What is a toxic relationship?
A toxic relationship is one where there is a consistent feeling of unease, unhealthy communication patterns, and a general sense of disrespect.
These relationships can be with a romantic partner, family member, friend, or coworker. In a toxic relationship, it can feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells and never quite sure what will set the other person off.
There may be regular put-downs, either veiled as jokes or directly said, controlling behavior, or an overall feeling that you are not good enough. Toxic relationships can take a toll on your mental and physical health, leaving you feeling drained and exhausted.
