Digital detox is the act of removing all electronics from your life for a set period. The term was first popularized in 2005 by the book “The Digital Diet: A Six-Week Plan to Break Your Tech Addiction and Reclaim Your Life.”

It’s no secret that technology has impacted our lives over the years. As we continue to rely more heavily on computers, tablets, smartphones and other gadgets, it becomes increasingly important to take some time away from them to recharge mentally and physically.

A recent survey found that 61% of people feel more stressed out because of their technology. While taking a digital detox may not solve all our stress problems, we need to take time off from electronics to get back in touch with life and slow down our fast-paced lives.

This is one reason why I took up meditation at least once daily when creating my morning routine.

This helped me stay grounded throughout the day, allowing me to manage my anxiety better around socializing or meeting new people (something I was deathly afraid of doing).
