How to Regain your Sense of Faith
It’s normal to lose your faith in any part of life.
What is faith?
Faith is what we believe about God. We are talking about a supernatural belief in a greater being than us, not just any old belief. We are talking about the kind of faith where you don’t just say, “I believe,” or “I trust,” or “I have faith.” We are talking about a supernatural belief where you have hope and courage and peace and trust that things will work out.
We can have faith without seeing the evidence. We can have faith in something we have never seen or touched, yet we believe. We can have faith that the invisible universe is real, but it may be hard to prove.
Reasons you may feel a loss of faith.
So many people lose their faith, and it’s not always because they have found new information that contradicts what they believed. Many people who lose their faith do so because of things they’ve experienced — and it doesn’t necessarily mean that someone has not “found Jesus.” Sometimes it means that they experience something that makes them feel there is no God.
Some of the reasons people lose their faith include:
- They feel guilty about sin or feel like they have sinned and must do penance.
