Pain Is A Fact-Suffering Is A Choice
Pain is a challenge, but suffering is a burden.
Pain is a universal experience that every human being faces at some point in their lives. It can manifest in various forms, ranging from physical to emotional and psychological. While pain is an inevitable part of life, the way we choose to respond to it can determine whether or not we experience prolonged suffering.
The famous quote “pain is a fact, suffering is a choice” (This quote has been attributed to the Dalai Lama, Haruki Murakami, and M. Kathleen Caseys) peaks volumes about the power we have over our own suffering. Pain is something that we cannot control; it is a natural response to certain situations or circumstances.
Pain is a teacher, and suffering is the student who refuses to learn.
However, suffering is a different story. Suffering arises when we resist or react negatively to pain. It is a choice we make, consciously or unconsciously, to amplify our pain and turn it into something much more significant than it needs to be.
Pain may knock you down, but suffering keeps you there. Choose to rise above it.
